Since the Clubs establishment over forty years ago by a group of people that wanted to give families that lived in the local area somewhere to meet and feel welcome, the Club has evolved into much more being a source of financial support and physical hands on help to many different Sporting Clubs, Fundraising Ventures, Hospitals, Schools and Social Groups.
The main charitiy we support is the Little Heroes Foundation a charity providing support to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Oncology unit. Money has been donated by both the generosity of the Committee from profits made by the Club and donation tins around the Club.
Primary Schools and Child Care Centres are also beneficiaries of the Club. We are always glad to help with raffle and quiz night prizes of bottles of wine and dinner vouchers to help their fundraising efforts.
Social Clubs such as Senior Citizens, Ladies Probus and Apex regularly hold their half yearly and yearly functions at the Para Hills Community Club, with the Club waiving any service fee associated with the hiring of the function room.
The Children’s Christmas Party, held on the last Sunday in November every year is an event held for member’s children. This event has proved to be a real winner with an average of 200 children in attendance. The Committee, staff and members all volunteer to lend a hand on the big day, which is a great way to give back to the average family member.
The Club recognizes that by using local business, such as butchers, plumbers and the like, helps keep money in the local community. For example our meat trays which are given away as part of our raffles are from Para Hills Quality Meats and electrical products for our Thursday and Friday night super raffles are from the local The Good Guys store.
